Miss Universe Philippines Pia Wurtzbach Rocks Pre-Pageant Show; Wears Pinoy-Designed Evening Gown

For the first time in years, the Philippine representative to the Miss Universe pageant finally wore a national costume and an evening gown made by a Filipino designer. Fans of Binibining Pilipinas have been requesting the organization to tap local talents and world-class Pinoy designers to come up with the best gowns for our representatives in pageants. Only this year that the BPCI obliged to the request of fans and the results were amazing.

For Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe Philippines 2015, the stars are aligning as this development definitely strengthened her and made her more confident while she walked in a red-orange gown designed by Oliver Tolentino.

Wurtzbach, who was a Star Magic talent and became famous for her role in K2BU and bits in different teleseryes, joined the local pageant three times before coveting the Miss Universe Philippines title.

If you’re not able to watch her smashing performance earlier, watch it here:

According to reports, Wurtzbach initially had Albert Andrada make her prelims and finals gowns but it seems that due to flight delays due to Typhoon Nona, the said gown didn’t make it in time for the competition earlier.

Fortunately for Wurtzbach, she gains the support of many pageant enthusiasts and when a wardrobe mishap happened a day before the pre-pageant, a Los Angeles-based Pinoy designer came to the rescue.

Wurtzbach also sashayed along 79 others in swimsuit competition. Considered a front-runner in the competition, Wurtzbach faces tough competition against ladies from Dominican Republic, Peru, USA, Kosovo, Australia and Colombia.
