Alyssa Valdez and Mika Reyes would be a spectacular team-up to see in the supposed Clash of Heroes event that will exhibit the Philippine National Team’s preparations for the upcoming important tournaments. However, the fund-raising for the benefit of Philippine volleyball will be featuring less stars this coming Monday. This is due to Premier Volleyball League squads pulling out the participation of top guns, Alyssa Valdez (Creamline), Elaine Kasilag and Myla Pablo (Pocari Sweat) and Gretcel Soltones in the said event.

Spectators expect the goodwill game to be fun and exciting especially as it will banner Alyssa Valdez and Mika Reyes in one team, which will be held May 15th at Filoil Flying V in San Juan. Now that Valdez had pulled out, along with other volleyball stars currently playing in the PVL, a lot of supporters have expressed their disappointment and it seems they will not be watching the exhibit game anymore.

Team managers Rolando Delfino and Alan Acero had already expressed their take on the Clash of the Heroes event, in their official Facebook pages. They cite their lack of import players to contribute to their PVL teams push them to not let their players play on May 15th taking into consideration if they get injuries and their critical status in the PVL tourney. Still, they are extending their support to Philippine volleyball and they hope that the LVPI would understand their situation. Check out the Facebook page post below:

On a separate note, it seems that the Clash of Heroes organizers failed to formally inform their intent to have their players participate the said event as it parallels the PVL schedule of games. Earlier this week, a letter fom the FIVB had reaffimed their decision to give LVPI the full rights of granting players to the national team, causing tension against PVF. Supposed ITC’s were also delayed due to this friction so PVL imports have not played a single game still in the tournament, limiting the resources of each team’s line-ups.
