Resorts World Manila is under attack. Gunfire and explosions have occurred at one of Philippines’ premier leisure centers, Resorts World Manila.


The resorts-casino complex was were the gunfire and explosions happened and the entire Resorts World Manila is in a lockdown. Police, fire trucks, SWAT and other authorities have already responded to the area as early as 1:30 AM, Friday, June 2, 2017. Bonnet-wearing men were seen after huge explosions erupted in the area. Also known as the RWM, Resorts World Manila is a resort complex situated at the Newport City, where numerous hotels, bars and restaurants are established.


The said leisure center is flocked by tourists for its casino, shopping mall, theater and cinema. The Resorts World Manila Complex is described as “the first and largest integrated resort in the Philippines.” It is located just across from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippines’ primary airport.

For the past weeks, The Philippines has been under attacks of terrorism, especially at the southern part of the country, Mindanao. The Marawi City and the government forces have been battling ISIS-supporting militants, Maute Group for control of the city. Because of this, around 70,000 residents have been displaced and left with 140 casualties.
