Katarina Rodriguez, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017, Resigns?


Katarina Rodriguez, the 24-year-old model and Philosophy graduate from De La Salle University has expressed she may not accept the crown, according to CNN Philippines. News broke out that a possible shake-up in the line-up of Binibining Pilipinas 2017 queens is about to happen as the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) allegedly held an emergency meeting earlier today.

Katarina Rodriguez once joined Asia’s Next Top Model and emerged as the third placer in the contest. Rodriguez has not yet provided any statement regarding her win as Bb. Pilipinas – Intercontinental. Her beauty camp and Jonas Gaffud, kept mum on her standing as well.

The news of a possible shake-up started first at The Philippine Pageantry page where they posted this:


But, it was CNN Philippines who confirmed Rodriguez expressed not accepting the crown and BPCI is currently waiting for the formal resignation letter until today. BPCI has kept mum about the alleged resignation and is yet to release a statement. According to sources, however, Charmaine Elima, 1st Runner-up, who is set to take the crown voided by Rodriguez, will either resign or insist to retain her 1st Runner-up status.
