Always be aware and be cautious on who you are extending your help to. Edward Pangilinan, who also goes by the name Patricia Centino, recently became the talk of the town as the 14-year-old boy turned out to be an alleged scammer who fooled everyone by faking his cancer to acquire donations. He also sold camote on the streets, as per KAMI.

In a Facebook post, his modus was exposed by Pau Vislenio who published her own encounter with the teen. She called everyone’s attention to not fall behind the trap of this person who said he’s undergoing chemo at the Philippine Orthopedic Center. She met Pangilinan at the Sanctuario de San Antonio Parish last April 13 where the latter offered him 150-peso overpriced camote to support his medications. Upon knowing his alleged illness, they offered to help him sell all the camotes for that day since the chemo, which amounts to Php 100,000, needs to be paid that day. According to Pangilinan, Billy Joe Crawford have him Php 70,000 and Php 20,000 came from his uncle so they still need Php 8,000.

Though in doubt, they still helped him: “Pag di ko to tinulungan ngayon at may masamang mangyari sa batang ito, pagsisisihan ko habang buhay,” she wrote in her post. ” At dahil gabi na yun naawa kami ng friend ko at binigyan namin ng pera kasi nga 8k na lang kulang tapos may dala siyang 25 kilos na kamote.”
